Collabor88 July 2012 - Bleached

I am so impressed by this months Collabor88, and totally blown away by the creations that the designers came up with using such a limited colour pallet. I managed to squeeze into the sim for the first time late last night (it was always heaving) and did a quick survey of the items and managed to pick a few gorgeous items!

I've been lax on the blogging side of things lately, I'm waiting on a new graphics card, a fabulous new shiny one that will let me work with shadows and all those fabulous things you can do on ultra graphics ... alas it's making me not love the graphics i currently have, but I am still working, kinda ...

Fairy Tales - A Tale of 2 Avatars

I went on over to see whats on offer at the Fairy Tales event, personally I thought the event was lacking in something, not really sure what though, it may be possible that when I read Fairy Tales, I thought there would be more of an emphasis on that aspect. But anyhoo, that doesnt mean that the items on offer arent beautiful in themselves and some of the creators there did go for the full Fairy Tales theme.

Here even though it's not exactly Fairy Tale, I did pick up this absolutely gorgeous MESH corset from Aura, Teamed here with the Glow Studio Key to my Heart Necklace (the long one)

I did a bit of an experiment with this one, same outfit on 2 different avatars, just to see if they looked any different, obviously with fur and ears there are things you cant add, but I think this worked out well.

STAND4LOVE

I don't normally champion any specific causes, however I felt this one had to be mentioned ... STAND4LOVE is the collaboration between RicoRace Flux and Editorial Clarity. They believe like so many others that no matter whether you are Gay, Lesbian, Straight, Transgender or Bisexual, no matter your sexual orientation, creed or colour, everyone has the right to love and be loved in return without fear or discrimination.

Currently while I am writing this I am watching a chat going on in a group I am a member of, and to say I am thouroughly disgusted by the attitudes of some people because of how you chose to live your life and because of who you fall in love with is an understatement.

No one can help who they fall in love with, love is love, we all deserve it and are continually looking for it.

So, I had to move land today which was a total pain in the butt, but I made it as easy as possible, it always helps to be on really good terms with your region owner ... the move went smoothly and aside from the sim name, you would never know I had moved at all.

I have to say though, while I was moving I couldn't resist taking a dip in the ocean in my new bikini from Star Fashion, I think it might be the cutest thing ever!

Wooo Hoooo!!!!! Guess who finnished checking out al the stores at the Culture Shock Sim ... Yeah that's right, it was Meeeeeeee! Can't believe I managed it, though I will say it took me a while.

I think I spent most of my time checking out G Fields offerings, their items were the cutest ever, and in one of those quirky moods I decided upon the most innocent look I could think of ...

I am in love with these boots, they might just be my new staple item, I'm sure I could match them to every outfit I have. They come with a colour change hud, so you can change the lace colour, and the fabric on the turn down ... I might have to go get them in another colour.

Nostalgia

Well, the May round of Collabor88 is up and running and they haven't let me down, this months theme is Daydream, so light, dreamy and casual creations, in pastel tones can be found this month. Though I must say, when I picked up my items today, I found that the item I put together was a 50s inspired creation with the kitchen and accessories to complete it.

I have to say though my favourite piece of this round is the DayDream Necklace from League, it is beautiful and very unique with moving sky and clouds in each panel. I am in love with it!

Donna Flora Appreciation Day

Had a bit of a power cut tonight, no lights, computer or kettle .... aaaarrrgggghhhh no tea!!!!

Sudden Cravings

For some reason I want a Macaron!

Might have something to do with the extra LARGE one I found at Collabor88, which I found so irresistible, I had to buy it along with this retro sofa!

I've also had a craving for SHOES!!! Being a fur I rarely find any suitable for my purposes, and if I want to wear shoes, which I dont always, they have to be boots, and I hate to tell ya but they don't go with everything, so I went hunting, and didn't realise there are actually a few makers of shoes for furries, paw feets included!

These beauties I am wearing are from Fae's Fixations. I recently bloged a tail friendly sweater from Fae, and I must say I love her stuff. These come complete with a colour change hud so you can tint the shoes and the feet to match your AV and whatever your wearing perfectly!

I was exploring again, and a gorgeous new landscape caught my eye, with thanks to the very talented Wendy Xeno who has created HuMaNoiD, when you first land here you are surrounded by many doors, it's a little Alice in Wonderland at first. Depending on the door you choose, depends on where you end up.

I was greedy and looked through all the landscapes she had to offer ...

You will have to set your graphics settings pretty high to see this place in all it's amazing glory, her installations here will make you stop and think, and while some are beautiful, like the one above, some are also barren.

I really should't take suggestions from my partner anymore, he is such a bad influence on me, I might just shoot lingerie from now on it is so much fun.

Cute ... Or What!?

OK, so this was an 'I MUST HAVE THIS' moment, because you have to admit it was just too cute to pass up...

And it's in PINK!!!


It's not my favourite colour, but it seems to be today!

This too cute Av is from the Tokushi Mesh Tinies Range, and is of course the cutest skunk EVER (minus the bad smell) It comes in the package with 3 sizes, and is available in various colours.

The Burd

I was feeling at a loss today, and decided a new Av to add to my growing collection would be a good thing to get me out of my rutt! Decided upon the AX Burd in white. My thinking was that as the feathers are colour change I would customise it per outfit, and white goes with everything!

I'm still working on her, but while playing with the feathers I fell in love with the pink, and ended up having a complete pink day! There is another pink Av to follow in the next post ...

I'm finding it hard to adjust to having a beak, and getting hair to work around it is proving tricky, so I think hair shopping is my next thing, along with heading to the pose fair!!

I'm getting decidedly lazy in my old age!

Sunshiney Day

I have to say a HUGE thank you to Teshan2222 Wycliffe for taking some beautiful snapshots here at Happy Mood and for pointing the rest of us in it's direction, it is a truly stunning and peacefull place to visit, though I suggest you look out for the mutant bunnies!

You can see for yourself it is truly stunning, I am in awe with the talent that went into creating such a beautiful spot.

Conversations with the Caterpillar

I've been reading 'Alice in Wonderland' with my daughter, or more to the point she's been reading it to me (she's 9 and doesn't need her mommie reading to her anymore, so I'm told) and inspired by the comic bookesque quality of some of the Alice images over the years I was inspired into this.

Fields of Flowers

Got caught up in a field of tulips today, it seemed to be never ending! Every way I looked there were more and more tulips ... might need to call for help soon.

Thankfully, it's not too hot out and the gorgeous mesh dress from The Sea Hole keeps me comfortable enough to be out there all day!

Death by Chocolate

It was movie night in the Johnson household, and I think I overdid it a little on the chocolate, thankfully I was wearing my most comfortable tee from Apple May Designs to make me feel less ill than I would have!

So I got this very pretty mesh dress the other day, and no matter what I do with it my butt looks massive! So I experimented with both my bigcat av, and my human one ...

So you tell me, 'Does my bum look big in this?' or is it just me?


FYI the dress is from the fabulous larosa kohime of LaRosa. This question is not posed to bash the designer but to simply ask the question, sometimes no matter how you style something, it still doesn't look right.

I just love this dress, it is so simple and comfortable it can be dressed up for party nights our dressed down to wear everyday. Teamed here with my jewellery from Maxi Gossamer (my new fav jeweller) I'm ready for a night on the town!

Biker Chic

So I know I dont have a bike or anything but sometimes leather can be a fabulous thing if for the right occassion. Lapoint & Bastchild are part of Fashion for life this year and have released this fabulous black leather biker jacket just for the occassion. (There's also a men's version)

Teamed here with the LaRosa black leather MESH mini, I think it looks awesome!

So I was just hanging around, minding my own business when all of a sudden I was attacked by all these damn butterflies!!!

Then I finally realised the problem, I had squished on leaning back against the tree and this was how they got me to move so it could be free, if a little rumpled!

After that I was left alone to do whatever I wanted ...
